| Things are in full swing at Springfield this time of year. The AI portion of our breeding season has just come to an end and the herd bulls have been turned out to run clean up. On top of the breeding we are also right in the middle of our prime bull-selling season. The bulls seem to be moving well, with many going to repeat buyers. Spring is coming and that means the Spring Fever Sale is right around the corner. We have already been through the herd to select a consignment and are now awaiting Tom Burke’s pre-sale inspection. This year’s consignment is an extra  special pair that is
coming from deep within the cow herd. In January the North Carolina Angus Association had its annual meeting where it proved to be a very eventful day. Matthew was elected to serve a three-year term on the Board of Directors. Springfield was awarded the Ira Gentry Award for having the top-selling lot at last year’s Spring Fever Sale. The biggest award (and surprise) was when Phil’s name was called to be inducted into the Association’s Hall of Fame. A good day for Springfield. |
